Wow, this album to s a break from the mo...

Wow, this album to s a break from the more “hit” oriented first three Santana albums. The first tune with the cricket and Hadley Caliman’s drones was quite a departure. (It picks up tremendously after the crickets. ) The album is loaded with fantastic Latin Rock grooves. Great soloing and some vocals by Santana. Anyway I think I read Santana did some of the vocals. Great album in quad sound.

Nice original tunes influenced by the Beatles and Byrds. Great vocals-Alex Chilton. The musicianship is solid. Ahead of its time.

Soul Jazz on Blue Note 1961 set from the late Lou Donaldson, Baby Face Willette on Organ and Grant Green on guitar, Dave “One Foot In the Gutter” Bailey on the skins. Bird’s Cool Blues covered. A solid set;great players who hit the pocket. I don’t pc 5 star. Kind of Blue 5 star or 5 plus. Giant Steps 5 star. This title is a solid 4.
