True to Life
4 von 4 finden das hilfreich This is an excellant read. I thoroughly enjoyed it..partly because I live less than twenty miles from where it occurred and partly because I love to read real crime drama...true stories are much better than fiction.
This is a tragic a story about Charlie Lawson, a farmer who lived in Stokes County, NC and, for some unknown reason, murdered all of his family, except for one son, on Christmas Day, 1929.
There are many rumors as to why Lawson killed his family. Some say it was because he had a previous head injury...some say it might have been because he had gotten his daughter pregnant...all are rumors and none have been proven. The writer leaves it up to the reader to make up his or her own mind.
It is well written and has several pictures. A good read that once picked up, will not be put down until the last page is read.

Learn what the founders meant
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich David Barton does a fabulous job of explaining the “Original Intent” of our founding fathers when it comes to the 1st Amendment and our rights of religious freedom. It is very clear to me now that, our founders relied heavily on divine providence for guidance and never meant for a separation of church from state. They meant exactly what the 1st Amendment says, that government cannot institute a state religion...nothing more, nothing less. We should look to the “Original Intent” of every part of the Constitution, and not judicial review as we so often do.

Every State has the right to secede
I’ve always been a constitutionalist but this book cleared up so much for me. It will definitely uncloud your mind if you have any doubts that states do indeed have the right to secede, and the Confederacy was not wrong in doing so.
