Great add-on for Thunderbolt equipped Mac users

I selected this unit because it includes eSATA ports. Most of the other TB docks do not offer this feature. The first drive I tried to connect via eSATA was a G-Raid mini and it was not recognized. However, I tried a regular ( not-Raid) SATA drive and it worked perfectly. The second TB port is essential for expandability. It's great to plug my laptop into a single TB connector instead of USB, video, ethernet, etc.

Great SD TBC and Frame Sync

This is a great broadcast quality TBC and frame syncronizer. Connect analog or digital SD video sources and clean them up for transfer to a hard drive or DVD. The 475 and 575 are identical with the exception that the 575 can do NTSC or PAL. The audio option is handy because it allows the audio and video to be equally delayed, so there's no loss of lip sync. If the unit you are bidding on has the audio option, you will see the audio connectors on the rear. The DV option is not standard on this unit. Ignore the Firewire connector on the rear. Some of these units include the noise reduction option, but you can't tell from photos, so ask the seller. Assume it is not included unless you're specifically told otherwise. There are a number of these units being sold without a contol panel. There also standalone control panels for sale. Most of the functions of these units can be controlled from a web browser via ethernet, however it would be nearly impossible to confgure the initial network settings without a control panel. If you're just looking to own one of these, make sure it has a control panel.

If you like the Rockford Files, you'll want to see this

These are the first 4 of 8 TV movies produced as a followup to the Rockford Files TV Series which ended in 1980. The actors are about 14 years older. To me these feel a lot like episodes from the original series with longer run times. Picture and sound quality are fine, just what you would expect from a Hollywood TV production. The only disappointment is that there are zero extras or special features. By the time this was released on DVD many of the actors and producers had passed away so there wasn't much opportunity to get new interviews or commentary. Still I bet there were some behind the scenes footage and other material that could have been included here.
