GUM Butlerweave Floss Mint Waxed 200 yd (Pack of 2)

Good shred-resistance, smart dispenser

I was impressed with the floss in the travel/sample size so I bought the 200 yd spool. It's supposed to be the same floss, but I found it to be not quite as good. Still, it was better than most conventional flosses for shred-resistance, and a step up from the standard GUM waxed dental floss. Much better than J&J dental flosses. Butlerweave will shred, but not as quickly. It gets somewhat slick when wet, but not as hard to hold onto as Glide. I have tight contacts, so I need fine diameter waxed floss. The Butlerweave works well for getting between tight contacts, even though it's their standard diameter. The mint flavor was much lower than the travel/sample size. I preferred their tutti fruiti flavor, but it this wasn't available in the 200 yd spool. I couldn't find Butlerweave floss in the 200 yr dispenser locally, but eBay had a very good deal. The dispenser allows you to rewind the floss by turning the wheel backwards in case you pull out too much. I'm hoping the cutter will stay sharp as it will experience a lot of cutting before the floss runs out.

Installation was quirky, but eventually worked

Initially it wouldn't recognize the product key as valid. Usually I can get Win 7 validated by using the phone method if automatic online doesn't work. This time, I ended up calling Microsoft but their validation tech support is only open 7pm-1am ET. As it turned out, I tried the online route again the next day and it was fine. Microsoft validation servers can be quirky.

Installation error remedied by update

Buying a last year's version is much cheaper than the current and does enough of the same to make it a great value. The 2015 version will give an error notice toward the end of installation. Go to the Intuit Quicken site and download the latest update for 2015 and it will be ok. Also, you are required to register with Intuit in order to get Quicken to run.
