It does what it does. As a Jeweler I have no problem with it
I use this as a pre-polish with a Rouge Follow up. Which would be a normal way for jewelry. And as a Jeweler this product delivers what is needed. Tripoli is a pre-polish as the item notes, which in a nutshell means it's a more aggressive polish. So they refer to it as pre-polish. Being more aggressive it helps you to remove any minute scratches, and otherwise from your products before you move to Rouge. Using it in conjunction with rouge gives you a beautiful shin on bold and silver. I don't use other metals; except maybe platinum but this is best for Gold and Silver. Other compounds are best for platinum and other metals. So not all compounds will deliver what you want; depending on the metals. But if you use the right ones they will. That's the key; use the correct compounds for the metals. These products last a long time. This bar will last a long time using it with mops etc. A little bit is all it takes; you don't have to saturate mops or bristle brushes to get the job done; and if so you'll have much to clean up. It works well with high speed flex shafts or even medium ones. Slower ones it works but you'll spend more time at the pre-polish. Using it as noted will delver what you want. And that is a pre-polish to follow up with a final. Tripoli is not designed for the final polish. And you should not use the same mops etc. for different polishes. Don't use the Tripoli mop for the rouge - we are looking for high gloss shines; following this polish, so we don't want to contaminate and mix them. Clean it up and then move on to final polish - that way it eliminates any potential contamination of polish. With gold and silver Blue Dawn without dyes or perfumes etc. works best. It is a good product for cleaning Gold and silver and removing polish compounds. Highly recommended. I use blue dawn exclusively for this and it works well for tumbling too. Just a few drops in the tumbler with some jewelers shot works well to tumble

Good machine for Jewelry work.
As a Jeweler I have this Flexshaft and a few others even original Foredom models. At times one wants a Flexshaft that has also a reverse on it and this one doesn't.. that doesn't mean that's is a bad machine but moving it in reverse you seem to have more control over cutting out seats and things for Settings. I've runed the inner workings and messed up the spring and damned it not I did it on another one the same day. Not a problem the stem is easily replaced about 10.00 or so to get a new inner spring.. It was just plain stupidity that it happened I should have known better than to keep it a microcloth on the bench which twisted up in the end and screwed up the srping.. Again not a big deal. I think these are just as good as Foredom models and they are lighter. The only drawback would be it doesn't have a reverse which again depending on what you are working on can help a lot.. The machine I think is just as good as high-end Foredom save for the reverse switch I'd buy this again and again. Many on the market the same and they are pboably mostly manufactured by the same companies. Either way long-story short it's a decent machine.. And I have a couple of them. A fletxshaft on a Grinder polisher like some sell is good for light duty work and even polishing but if you need more speed and control with the foot-switch well this is the way to go.. I have both
