Better than your average water filter.
I've been using a standard 1.4L water filter for many years now and only discovered the 3.5L XL filter when I went round a friends house and saw they had one. I just wish I'd made the switch years ago because it's so much easier to use. The problem with smaller version is that you have to fill it 3 times as often and constantly removing the lid every time can be a bit of a faff especially if you accidentally miss-align it with the container in the top. The Elemaris has a self closing fill hole in the top so there's no messing around with a removable lid - you just fill and go. The only drawback with the whole system is that the cost of the genuine MAXTRA filters can be expensive if you don't shop around but there are cheaper alternatives available if you really want to go down that route. And remember to make sure that the filter unit is not sitting in direct sunlight now that its summer as it will quickly turn green! (as I found out to my cost).

Good value for money - very slim and well finished.
The internal dimensions are slightly bigger than a credit card so they rattle around a bit as you move about but this could be remedied by putting some sort of liner down one side which I will be doing. Overall quality appears to be good and the depth is just 6.5mm which is one of the slimmest on the market. There doesn't appear to be anything stopping the hinge pin coming adrift which could be a problem in the future as it was with my previous one but that lasted more than 10 years!
