Fair Value VFD
Disclosure. I have 9 years experience in installing various small VFDs and have installed about 30 of them in that time, ranging from used VFDs to very high quality VFDs. I bought this VFD for a budget limited friend to control his metal work lathe and it was his choice to go low level on this product. Given the cost the VFD is of decent quality and represents good value but it does come with some limitations.
- The most important one for me is that the motor "over current" limit is not programable. This means the VFD will not protect the motor like a better quality VFD.
-The manual is briefing to the point but would be a tricky read for someone wthout experience with installing VFDs.
- The parameter set is quite limited (38 parameters) but this is enough for a basic machine install, just don't try to do anything unusual with it
- The other thing I don't like is the wires connecting to the terminals end up being exposed. This means legally this VFD should be installed inside a box or cabinet - which I usually do anyway. OR some kind of c over is needed. I also don't like it when there is no added physical cable restraint so I installed the VFD on an Al plate with added cable glands as shown in the photo. This is no different to most budget end VFDs.

Top shelf High quality muffs that work!
I have 5 sets of these muffs. One in my car to use when I go using chainsaws and the others scattered around my shop so I never have far to reach for a pair.
I had my hearing diagnosed about 15 years ago and discovered my hearing was below average for my age and the audiologist suggested I would need hearing aids within 5 years. I then bought 2 pairs of these muffs and used these muffs religiously thereafter in my ship and especially when I was out and about using chainsaws. Recently had my hearing retested and found that my hearing has not deteriorated anywhere near as much as other people of the same age and I can still (just) get away without using hearing aids. Of coure they cannot improve your hearing (nothing can) but they can definitely slow down your hearing loss.

One of the best books around on Japanese quilting
Title says it all. Very easy to follow. Great pictures. Covers a wide range of typical applications. For anyone wanting to get into Japanese quilting this is THE BOOK
