Great mid-power starter kit.
This is my favorite kit produced by Aerotech. It accepts 24 and 29mm single use or reload motors, so it's suitable for smaller fields. The Mustang is moderately priced if you shop around for it, and is an easy build, requiring a minimal amount of finishing work to make a great looking rocket. Nose cone, fins, and launch lugs are all sturdy plastic. The Mustang uses a wire mesh / plastic ejection baffle system, so wadding is not required. Aerotech's fin-locking system provides extra strength by transferring load bearing away from the fins to the airframe structure. One note - after 2 flights or so it is necessary to insert a dowel or similar item into the bottom of the rocket to clean some of the ejection debris from the wire mesh, to assure the ejection gasses will get through to deploy the parachute.

Good Beginner's Kit
Customize-able kit, designed to use a wide variety of fin configurations - it's up to the builder. Fins are made from heavy card stock; with a plastic nose cone it's an easy build. No balsa to seal; sanding is minimal. Great for streamer duration or altitude contests; learn about drag and how the number of fins - and how they're attached to the body tube - make a difference in performance. Flies on 18mm standard motors :A, B, or C. I recommend sticking to A and B motors to increase the chance of getting the rocket back after a flight. A C motor is a bit much for this lightweight model. Unless you don't mind walking / driving to the next county to get it back.
