Unique meter

All is as advertised. The value of the test leads (which include 'screw on' type gator clips) and nylon case alone would separately add up to the price paid – which translates into getting a good quality moderately expensive meter for free. You can't beat that with a stick.
• no switching required between amps & volts (at idle, screen will read 'auto' when in Volt/Amp mode), has min/max function; all functions auto-ranging
• magnet [for panel enclosure mounting] on back is very powerful; magnet has fiber covering on it to prevent marring painted surfaces
• test lead storage in back
• unit dimensions: 10" × 2¼" / screen dimensions: 1½” × 1⅛"
• bar graph at bottom of screen is very responsive and easy to discern; will readily detect a 'noise' condition and normal fluctuations (a quick visual indicator reminiscent of an analog response)
• continuity annunciator reasonably loud, and gives simultaneous ohm readout
• hook design for amp function very practical for reaching wires that may be essentially hidden underneath other wires; and for getting into tight spaces thereby significantly reducing the amount of 'manipulation' required to achieve a reading; slot/opening diameter for wire positioned for amp measurement is 7/16"
Note that Klein no longer produces this one, however, unit will perform admirably with a couple of uncommon features.

Good deal, good product

• safety shrouds on the test leads are spring loaded and will 'twist lock open' leaving approximately ⅛" exposed when desired
• if you haven't had any experience with one like this it may initially come across as a bit confusing, however, the instruction manual is very well laid out;
- at the lowest level to medium voltage range only the LED's at very bottom will respond;
- as the voltage approaches 120v (but less than) the middle neon also responds;
once you reach 120v and above then you also have the solenoid portion (this applies to both AC & DC), in conjunction with vibration and audible;
- Cautionary note - the continuity LED also serves as low voltage DC notification - in order to differentiate and verify between continuity or DC simply reverse the leads, if the DC negative LED lights then you indeed have a DC voltage, if it does not then there is simple continuity.
