A good intermediate bodhran for the occasional player, at a very reasonable price.

The Deura 18th is a good intermediate level, tunable bodhran. The drum, beater and case are made fairly well, but might be a tit fragile for the professional player who is playing it for several sets out a night as I used to do when I was with the Galway Blazers. That said, though, it is a great value for the money and a level instrument. What would make it better would be finger tightening screws rather than the allen screws that require you to remember where you put that little wrench when you want to tighten it. A heavier beater and a sturdier case with some padding would also be appreciated upgrades. It would be nice to give an upgrade option for a Celtic art design of ones choosing painted or stenciled on the head.
