Brake pads for Concours 14
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich UPDATE: I have had these pads on my Concours 14 for approximately 2000 miles. Stopping power and wear are very good. However, I have experienced a surging problem with the brake/stopping that has progressed to unacceptable levels. I pulled the calipers and thoroughly cleaned the caliper pistons and made sure that none were stuck. I cleaned the disc with brake cleaner and sand paper. I cleaned the disc buttons to make sure that the disc was floating. Then, I measured the runout on the discs. One front disc had +/- 0.002" runout and the other front disc had +/- 0.007" runout. I did not want to have to change the discs due the cost for these. I had purchased a set of pads at a MotoGP race in Austin, TX and decided to try them even though the Caltric pads were not worn out. After replacing these with the Galfer pads, I immediately noticed a significant improvement in the smooth stopping power- devoid of surging. I will continue to monitor this. My gut feel is that the Caltric pads were leaving deposits on the disc that affect the coefficient of friction to the disc- thus resulting in a grab/release condition during braking.
