Educational and Entertaining reading for History lovers
If you enjoy history, read this book. I really enjoy the first person diary/narrative style used by the My Story series. This was a gripping tale of a typical Irish peasant farming family in the time of the Great Potato famine. Good to read with children of around age 8 and up, but be warned some sad events including the death of a baby due to starvation,occur. I like the way the story doesn't deny the nasty side of historical events but doesn't dwell on it inappropriately either. I learnt a great deal from this book about a period I had only heard of briefly. Includes a timeline of key events and historical notes.

A pleasure to play with as a Christmas tradition for family
I am loving using this as an Advent Calendar. My adult children and I take turns to pull out each day's little buildable item and chat while we do it. It arrived in pristine condition, beautifully wrapped. I chose last years rather than this years because I really liked the figures and models included such as the tiny piano. It comes with many extra wands and extras of tiny parts.
