New Tung-Sol 7591As Are Real Winners!
The tubes were bought for use in a 1963 Fisher 800C receiver that was completely rebuilt in 2008. The new Tung-Sol 7591As give this high-end vintage rig a superb sound, with brilliant detail, sound-staging and full-frequency response. I've seldom seen such an improvement in sound quality from a tube change. This set replaced a 10-year old set of JJs that sounded (I thought) quite good, and I was floored by the immediate improvement in my receiver's performance.
I've tried plenty of tubes that work just fine in a guitar amp but fail miserably in this top-end mid-60s receiver. I'd recommend these for ANY high-quality vintage audio application.
