Great Buy on Plasma torch tips
My ICE-55 plasma torch came with the extended tip, not the standard tip or one with a drag tip. This kit containing the electrodes, cups, and a drag tip made the conversion to the standard tip much cheaper as Miller Welding sells the consumable electrode and cups in pkgs of five costing $36 per pkg. I made the switch and got a drag tip, all for one sum of $36 which included four electrodes and four cups.

EDM-4000B
The EDM-4000B unit is a very portable unit capable of penetrating almost anything electrically conductive. I have used a tubular electrode to cut thru exhaust valves made of high temperature resistant material with ease. The cutting rate using a 3/8” diameter solid electrode in the otherwise difficult machining effort was impressive, 1/4” deep in five minutes! No need to clean off surface or grind to bare metal, this thing burned thru everything! The water electrolyte used is plain tap water without any additives and as a side benefit there is no heating effect to cause damage or distortion. I’m using this to remove small 1/4” steel studs from aluminum castings. Broken studs are “drilled” with hexagonal electrodes and removed with hex drivers. Accuracy is within .015” of electrode outside diameter. It could use a few more different length extensions to support the cutting head actuator but they are simple round bar with a short threaded section on the end. Oddly, the actuator’s mounting female thread is different from the magnetic base support’s. Setup is quick and easy taking less than five minutes from completely disassembled to ready for operation. I’d like a storage tray to fit inside this unit with the self contained storage box as it does not have a pull-out tray. Using a drill chuck to hold the electrodes is genius but not easily adapted to flat electrodes. A small threaded clamp adapter is needed for that. Unit worked well on 120VAC 20A circuit. Not sure how this is rated for 3000W cutting power but I’m glad I did not purchase the cheaper 800W unit. In short, if you need or want to punch a round or odd shaped hole in metal this machine will do it with ease.
