It Doesn’t Fit
The gas cap to my Briggs and Stratton motor had a small leak so I scanned the QR code located on the motor and it came back with this part number. The only problem, the brand new cap leaked much worse than the old cap. I ended up taking the o-ring off the new cap and putting it on the old cap (so the old cap now has 2 o-rings, one in the correct location and one towards the top of the cap). I would not recommend buying a new gas cap unless yours is completely broken. If your cap is leaking like mine was, by a second o-ring or I’ve even read about people using a rubber band as a second o-ring towards the top of the cap to stop the leaking.
