Brando at his Best
I have been a lifelong admirer of the acting of Marlon Brando. In this movie, made in 1990 when he was 66 years old, long after he first became famous in the 1950s, his acting is endearingly excellent.
The plot and the acting of Matthew Broderick and Maximilian Schell (who was so wonderful with Brando in “The Young Lions” back in 1958) are very good.
Altogether, it is worth ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Excellent Production with a Great Actor
The writing by Dennis Potter is justly famous, and the idea (new then) of interposing popular songs of the time was very effective. As for the acting of Bob Hoskins, it was MAGNIFICENT, and kicked off a long, varied and wonderful acting career. 😃😃

Rumpole the Great
An excellent series. I’m delighted to have it, and the price was reasonable. Leo McKern was a great actor and his poetry recitations in the episodes were wonderful. What a great pity he never made a recording of poetry readings. 😃
