A unique and important sociological documentary.
The gay and lesbian Hasidic and Orthodox Jewish community is a subject rarely, if ever, spoken about in the non-progressive Jewish world. Anyone, gay or straight interested in the Jewish community would be enlightened by this well produced, well directed documentary. I would think that just as there is a homosexual community within the religious Jewish community, there must be a similar community within the Christian and Moslem religious world as well. This is an important film for clergy interested in outreach.

A Haggadah for today
Traditional yet appropriate for a modern family. Recommended by my Reform rabbi and he was correct. I can't wait to use it at my Seder.

Brilliantly researched, highly understandable.
I've studied the Holocaust for decades including courses in college, but this book surpasses everything I've read in the past. It is not only brilliantly researched and well written, it is highly understandable as well. The author refrains from the emotional side of the holocaust unlike so many other pieces of literature. Instead, he takes the reader on an analytic journey of WHY and how persecution and the killing machines of not only the Nazis but of others as well were allowed to exist throughout Europe. The final chapter culminates in the author's insight to how society can prevent this from happening again. Whether one is an academic historian or an amateur student of history, this book will deliver answers to many questions that in the past were without reply.
I most highly recommend this book.
