Sharp and light Nikon zoom
This lens captures sharp images and renders colors nicely. It's also light to carry on long hikes. The micro feature is an added bonus and very usable even if other specialized micro lenses from Nikon are better for that kind of work. I have used the lens on a Nikon D3X which demands a decent lens. The auto-focus works perfectly on well defined subjects and it tend to hunt for focus on more complex ones just like other Nikon lenses do. This lens and a 28mm f/2.8 AI-S beat carrying a 24-70mm AF which costs around $1600.
Cons: It doesn't have the nice, tight feel of an older manual focus lens. Uses 62mm filters so an adapter ring is needed to use 77mm filters. The hood that came with it is no good shooting wide as it shows in the viewfinder unless you crop the vignetting out later.

Works well on a 2016 Tacoma.
Installed it on my popup 4 wheel camper so I have backup camera functionality when I remove the tail gate and install the camper. Works great.
Plug and play with the included connector.
