Superb 1950's classic western

Terrific movie. One from the classic period of Kirk Douglas movies, sandwiched in between other 5* films such as Gunfight at the OK Corral; Paths of Glory, Spartacus and Lonely are the Brave. Great story line of revenge and justice, where Douglas is well supported by Anthony Quinn; Earl Holliman and Carolyn Jones. Highly recommended John Sturges western.

Excellent little film.

Really enjoyed this one. Selected the extended cut, rather than the theatrical version. No padding and nicely edited movie. Engaging characters and I didn't find the storyline predictable at all. Nice twists and turns and unexpected things happen. Well acted and the set up of the story was very convincingly done. There's echoes here of 'The Shallows', in terms of survival in a seemingly impossible situation. Would have been nice if there was the option to buy on 4K UHD, but the standard BluRay transfer was just fine. Soundtrack in 5.1 was suitable for the film.
