It fits!

Read other reviews suggesting others having a hard time mating the old base with new lid. Had to try myself and initially thought damn they were right..
What worked for me was to replace the large o-ring gasket with Pentair OEM part#87300400.
Clean the channel where the gasket sits.
Use a very, very,,very liberal amount of waterproof multi-purpose lubricant sealant with PTFE. (Local pool shop should have)
Lube the entire new gasket with your fingers and also apply lube on inner rim walls of your new lid. The two handles on top of lid is where you want to apply your down pressure when fitting. Put one side of the lid down and pressure down to push down remaining side.
This worked like a charm for me! Perhaps lucky, but worth the try....hoping for another 20yrs...good luck!!
