Johnson's Water-based Aqua Gloss Trade Paint
This is the first occasion that I have used water based gloss and clearly it is very different to oil based paints. Despite reading a good deal of information from other users I have not got to grips with it and find that the end result is poor. Even after three coats the finish lacks depth of gloss and evenness. There are still places where I can see through thin paint to the undercoat. The paint is quite runny and prone to drip when attempting to apply a generous coat.
I had intended to paint all my downstairs skirting boards prior to re carpeting but am now seriously considering reverting to oil based gloss.
The paint does have some positives in that there is no odour and cleaning brushes is quick and easy.
