Spend a little more for a better product
Candles worked when first turned on and are quite pretty, but they are one by one failing after only a few days, and the timer is completely confused -- basically just going on and off whenever. Any that are still working at all at the end of the season will be going into the round file.

Attractive but hard to wear
The clip on these earrings has a very small opening, so small that you can't get your ear lobe into it without pinching it in the hinge. The earrings are wearable once I buy a new clip and change it out. (I lose the daisy at the top.) Not a tragedy, just a nuisance, as a lot of vintage earrings need new clips for one reason or another -- usually corrosion of the metal, but these are actually brand new old store stock. It's a design defect.

Interesting period piece
Forgotten Books is a great resource for classic and vintage titles. Nice reprint in an attractive cover and good binding. Hundreds of thousands of titles, many available in digital format for a modest price.
