Everything you need for far less than if you bought them individually
I'm really glad that I invested in this kit. It has everything you need to get started in any kind of serious leatherwork. After pricing out what tools I needed to shepherd my son through his leatherworking Merit Badge if bought individually, I coughed up for this kit. He's in the process of making a quiver for his bow and arrow.

A feminist take on the story of Jacob and Joseph
The Red Tent is the story of Jacob and his sons, written from the point of view of the daughter, Dinah. The first half follows the bible version fairly believably, while the second half pulls from various non-cannonical sources to place Dinah back into the path of her famous brother, Joseph, in Egypt. Jacob was painted much more sympathetically than he is in the actual bible (I always thought he was not very likable and not somebody I would trust, much to my CCD teacher's chagrin). Dinah was interesting, a bit of a feminist Mary Sue, but considering who her grandmother was, I suspect that women may have had a lot more agency back then, than was later attributed to them in later iterations of the bible. A bit slow-paced in spots, but enjoyable and worthwhile if for no other reason than how realistically it paints a picture of life in a tent-village. I felt the story walked that fine line of being a feminist text without being disrespectful.

Hot food on the road, save a BUNDLE on those little camping propane tanks
We do a lot of camping and family day-trips,so this is a great little stainless steel thermos that can cut your propane usage almost by half and allow you to take a nice hot meal on the road to crack open and save a bundle over the cost of dinner out for the entire family. Those little 1-lb propane canisters have gotten EXPENSIVE!!! This has two internal pots (a large bottom pot, and a smaller upper pot) so you can finish cooking a curry on the bottom and cook rice on the top to serve it over, or whatnot. It uses no electricity, is modestly sized, and tucks compactly right into the back of the SUV along with kids, tents, gear, and the dog.
Added bonus ... handy at home in the summer when you don't feel like heating up the entire house to run the stove. Just cook 10 minutes, toss it in the thermos cooker, and go do something else for the next 2 to 8 hours.
What it's good for:
- Keeping food warm up to 8 hours
- Finish cooking rice
- Finish cooking "saucy" dishes such as stews, curries, chili
- Finish cooking dried, reconstituted beans and legumes
- Pretty much anything you might use a slow cooker for, only this uses zero electricity
What its NOT good for:
- Don't even BOTHER attempting to cook pasta ... it gets soggy ... pre-cook it, toss it in olive oil, and keep it in the top pan while your topping or "sauce" finishes cooking in the bottom half.
