Shockingly good!!! Lightweight and extremely powerfull !

Short version: WOW. Just WOW! Long version: It is very lightweight (440g alone - 720g with a huge NP-F970 battery!) and very, very bright! I did some measurements against a really huge (2.1 kg, 40cm x 40cm) 300W (220v) LED floodlight. Standard 1 meter distance measurement: HL-200 (This light) = 3990 LUX Standard 1 meter distance measurement: 300W flood LED = 3840 LUX Extreme 5.5 meters distance measurement: HL-200 (This light) = 134 LUX Extreme 5.5 meters distance measurement: 300W flood LED = 126 LUX AMAZING PERFORMANCE! A fully charged NP-F970 battery (7800 MAh) can hold this light at maxiumum illumination for 1hour and 50 minutes straight! Way more than most people's needs (ceremonies, interviews etc.) The zoom option is very welcome too. It can help you "boost" the LUX output on long distances. I already bought 2 of those and I am going to buy 2 more for a second setup. CON: The hotshoe mount is too close to the filters. You might need an extender if you want to use it on some cameras with very big lenses. I don't mind, I use those lights on stands as flood lights. These are too bright (but fully dimmable) for on-camera use anyway! Conclusion: Buy it. Just buy it. I own a lot of light setups for my work (tv director), this light left me speechless. 10+++/10 from me.

This is the real thing! Finally somebody thought this through!

I ordered this matte box as a cheap alternative to my camera's hood. I already had a similar one I bought a few years ago, and i thought "that's cheap and good enough". But this one is a completely different model! It may look the same in photos but it is TOP quality! First of all it has thin and deep stripes engraved on the flaps blocking the sun light. Cheaper models don't. The screws and the bottom mounting part are made of metal not cheap plastic! Also, the flaps have "adjustment stops" (like click-stops) in their rotation, so whatever the use or the weather, you can count that they stay where you want them to stay! They may not rotate much but it's enough for most cases. I may sound over-enthousiastic with this one but it is a HUGE upgrade from the cheaper plastic one I bought a few years ago. With the old one, under the Greek sunlight at summer, I could never keep the top flap in place. Or the side ones during windy days! This one is just perfect at this price! Part metal, part pastic it is still lightweight and solid rock. As a cameraman for 26 years, I had my share of cheap hoods, heavy matte boxes, loose flaps and plastic mounts. This one has none of those problems. Highly recommended.
