Hot to trot!
This pickup is exactly what I was looking for! I have an SD Hot Rails in the bridge and was reeling from the output mismatch between it and the other two single coils. Switching between them was always jarring and made settling on amp settings that worked well with all the pickups almost impossible--as most fat strat players can identify with.
Enter the Quarter Pound Staggered! It pretty much fixed the issue, and was even so hot that I had to drop the height further down than the Hot Rails to get it to balance!
The tone is pretty growly (almost like a P-90) and sounds even better with just a little bit of drive and compression. Perfect for a warm, dirty, bluesy, mid-rangey vibe while still sounding very much a single coil. Throw on full overdrive, and you definitely won't be disappointed. Overall, it's a perfect blues pickup. Stay way, though, if your looking for something more sparkly.
