Was rhe right saddle size for a Gibson J 15
This fits a Gibson J 45 and a J 15 acoustic guitar. You wanna buy 2 at a time-youre gonna hold it level at the top and file the bottom of the saddle on a flat piece of sandpaper to get your string height lower. If you file it too low, the guitar strings will buzz on the fretboard. Then you can use the first saddle to compare the second one to and know exactly how much less to file by how much taller it is, we're talking an 8th to 16ths of a millimeter. Definitely a fastidious procedure- but not difficult. Just some level filing back and forth on a piece of sandpaper. Try installing strings without filing at first, the height may be okay, but unlikely...string action usually takes a little handywork. Rately do saddles not need to be diled down a little bit. If you dont the sand the underside if your saddle your strings may be too high. Then your playability is slow and your hand cramps up, if your strings are too low the volume of your acoustic guitar is too quiet or the strings will buzz on your fretboard
