Alkan Op 39, APR Ronald Smith
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich The late, great Alkan specialist, Ronald Smith made several pioneering recordings of Alkan´s impossibly difficult piano music for EMI. I have nothing but praise for the playing on this long deleted APR set. However, the sound quality is simply atrocious, hard and brittle and sounds almost mono. I see, that it is just a reissue of some earlier recordings made by EMI in the late 1970s, therefore I find it puzzling, why the sound is so unpleasant, as I have some original EMI recordings with Ronald Smith from the same period which sound excellent.
