History of Rebellion in LYBYA comes to life
I bought LION OF THE DESERT because it relates to current affairs in the world. What happened in Libya in the years between the First and Second World Wars is prelude to the conflict going on there today. I remember the film from 1981 and how it impressed me then. Produced and Directed by a Muslim, Moustaphia Akkad, the film tells the story of Libyan rebellion against Italian colonization of northern Africa with intelligence and sympathy. The original title, Omar Mukhtar, was changed to satisfy non-Muslim tastes (a shame) but it is a spectacular movie. I am tempted to describe it as a poor man's Lawrence of Arabia; It is on that par. The performances by Anthony Quinn (as Omar Mukhtar) and Oliver Reed (as General Rodolfo Graziani) bring these historic figures back to life. The format is VHS tape, but don't let that stop you from enjoying this movie on the widescreen and in full color.

Decals with 'the rabbit habit'
For a "cheap" decal the artwork is fantastically good. I came across these 'mini masterpieces' and just had to have 'em. The only pain involved was not being able to buy more of them (the choices seem endless.) Fast shipping, too.
