The drivers deflector catches the window as it is closing.
The only way to close the driver window with the deflector in position is to press your finger on the deflector as the window is winding up to close. Then quickly remove your finger - just before the window hits it at the top. If your finger is touched by the closing window, the window opens again. The catch that keeps the deflector in place stops the window from closing. Also the rear window deflectors do not fit at all.
