Better than nothing.

Needs more radials! Appears very directional, even when used with 4 additional counterpoises. Better than nothing, but better needed for me to be happy! Apparently needs radial spokes cut to frequency all around the antenna base. Yes, I know, this creates a problem on the balcony, but which is more important - good 360 degree signal or balcony space. Wonder if I can buy more spokes and drill holes to give me spokes 360 degrees?

Works

Using it as a "stealth" base antenna with counterpoises & radial kit. WARNING - you must remove any tuner for a Yaesu 857D to attempt to tune the antenna. If not the tuning does not work as both try to tune! Definitely not as good as a 32' vertical with radials, but hides well.
