Funny dark beautiful shocking
Outstanding performances by Peter Coyote & Hugh Grant. It's a film that leaves an indelible mark. The subject matter portrayed is brilliant and very dark. Polanski at his best when dealing with erotica. I loved it!

The Horror
From youthful adventure to the utter carnage of military warfare. A beautiful yet intense brutal story of facing horrific jagged shells, some so big they block out the sun. Extreme.

Still got the blues...
No spoilers I promise. For me, this film has everything. Superb cast of character's, storylines & soundtrack. Locked in a prison for shooting a band member, a grizzled old man (Joe Seneca), confined to a wheelchair, is none other than 'Blindman Willie Brown'. Back in the day he was, and still is (according to Willie) best harmonica player from the Mississippi Delta. While there, a young classically trained musician called Eugene (Ralph Macchio) is obsessed with finding a Robert Johnson's 'lost' song and convinced Willie knows where the song is. Eugene disguised as a janitor busts Willie out of jail. Let the adventure begin. Funny, emotional, thoughtful, great Delta blues. It also had the obligatory sexy girl with a potty mouth (Jami Gertz). The two protagonists, could not be further apart socially. Under Walter Hill's direction, the film flows nicely. We witness elderly cunning & mentoring from Willie Brown and the angst of youth. The final third of the film will blow your socks off! A gem of a movie which never went mainstream. However that always makes me happy for some reason.
