You'd Be Daft To Miss It!
If you're a fan of Chic Murray then this is an essential addition to your collection. Sadly, not a lot of video exists of Chic, but I was pleasantly surprised to see a few clips on this disc that I hadn't seen before. A lot of space is inevitably given over to people talking about Chic, both as a performer and as a person. However, these are people who obviously knew him and loved him for who he was, such as Billy Connolly, Elaine C. Smith and Johnnie Beattie. The most poignant contributions come from Chic's ex-wife, Maidie, who both introduces the disc and has the final word at the end. The disc includes the 1998 documentary, 'Chic Murray: A World of His Own', from which comes a bizarre clip from Chic's funeral service at a crematorium in Edinburgh. As Billy Connolly says, "The staff there weren't used to the sound of 'mourners' laughing so much." But that's the way Chic would have liked it - just daft.

Misleading Title
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich This work of fiction has nothing at all to do with the real-life UFO incident of December, 1980. I knew this when I bought it, but just in case you didn't ... So, why did I buy it? Well, it was cheap as chips and would hopefully provide an entertaining diversion from the dreary 'seen-them-all-before' Christmas TV schedules. I was wrong. It turned out to be yet another re-hash of the 'found-footage' genre, and not a very good one at that. The acting wasn't bad, i.e., not good, just not the worse I've seen. The plot, if there was one, was well hidden towards the end, and the characters had a distinct lack of .. er .. character. The best bit for me was the good special effect in the last minute or so, showing the alien ships hovering over the airbase. Overall, then, a disappointing experience; one of those films that pass an hour or so, but that you wouldn't watch again, and where you think yourself lucky you didn't waste good money seeing this in a theatre.

Entertaining, Though Could Have Been Better.
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich As someone with a long-term interest in the supernatural, I much prefer the type of video which shows witnesses telling their own stories, preferably at the location where their experience took place. 'Haunted London' only partially meets these criteria. As others have said, the producers have used 'actors' in many cases to give an idea of what occurred. This is unavoidable in some of the older 'historical' sightings, but you will find more 're-creations' in this DVD than on, for instance, 'Tales of the Supernatural', which I believe is by the same producers.
To sum up, then: for the asking price, it makes for entertaining viewing. You'll probably be familiar with most of the stories, but that said, it's still miles better than the truly awful 'celebrity ghost hunt' garbage that floods our TV screens nowadays.
