Good old-fashioned analog scope
The Tek465B scope is a 100MHz two-channel analog oscilloscope introduced in 1972. It is an iconic scope, and one that remains a useful instrument today providing you are willing to overlook the occasional scratchiness in a pot or stickiness in a button. The price is a fraction that of a new scope, and it is far more repairable. The fact that so many 465B's have survived 40+ years says the build quality was high. If you want a cheap old-style scope, the 465B is hard to beat.

Good stuff for noisy pots
Caig seems to be the top of the line when it comes to contact and pot cleaners. F5 is their spray pot cleaner. Old potentiometers with carbon or plastic elements get noisy as they age. A squirt of this stuff on the slider and resistive element does wonders. The trick is getting the pot open to expose the insides. A linear pot (fader) is open by construction, but rotary pots are another matter...some are glued or rivetted shut and require a lot of effort to open (if all else fails, you can drill a hole in the case and squirt the F5 in). This stuff is also good at loosening shafts that are stiffened up with old grease.

Simple and gets the job done
A simple two-wire delay upon make module whose time delay is selectable by a nifty little row of DIP switches. I needed 10 seconds delay on application of 24 VAC to a relay. I put this in series with the relay coil and clicked the appropriate switches ...success!
