Like nearly all the Park line of professional tools, the CRC-1 has no equal in terms of accuracy, price, and durability.
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich Fork crown facing is recommended for high end headsets like Chris King and for those of us who tour the world on specific bikes made for durability, a properly milled fork crown is essential. Park's CRC-1 mills to specification a variety of sizes and it does it with a tool that will last absolutely forever. The tube sleeves are metal and not plastic as seen within the European version. I have compared this superior tool to crown race cutting tools from Asia and Europe. if one must foolishly cut costs, the European version from Cyclus might work although one is taking an extreme risk of destroying a fork without a steady hand. Chattering is also a serious problem with both the Asian (Ice) and European cutting tools. On the high end, both VAR and Campagnolo are good tool companies although when directly compared to Park, there is no difference in quality for reaming, facing, and other professional cutting tools. Furthermore, Park stands hard by their tools and sharpening/ replacement is a snap. Park is an American Manufacturing Company that has been standing up against cheaply made tools for cycling since 1963. When you buy a tool like this, you can expect to have it for the rest of your life.

Useful with frame and derailleur alignment. This model gauges many types of frame sizes and will last forever.
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich I always measure a factory frame following delivery and adjust accordingly prior to derailleur alignment. Should one experience mid-cog derailleur shifting problems, the likely cause will include a misaligned frame and/or hanger. When properly bending a hanger, one must first ensure that the entire frame is aligned as well using the FAG-2. This is an inexpensive means of ruling out problems with respect to frame and rim alignment issues.
The general order of work for truly solving shifting issues will be as follows:
1. Check and true rims on Park TS-2.
2. Check frame alignment with Park FAG-2 and adjust carefully.
3. Check hanger alignment with Park DAG-2.2 and adjust carefully.
4. Tune/ adjust derailleur and related components to specification.
Of course, some will find success with merely adjusting cable tension, etc. I utilize every step of detailed work for my lengthy tours and it has paid off with thousands of trouble free miles minimizing component wear.
