Only one stick worked. Tried both sticks...

Only one stick worked. Tried both sticks one at a time, only one allowed my PC to boot up. This gave me a lot of trouble. Thought something was wrong with my brand new cpu and motherboard. Pictures show both sticks of ram being used on the exact same slot, only one threw up errors.
