An Evening with Marlene Dietrich (DVD 2003)
It is what it is - an ageing actress/'singer' singing the songs she's best known for. It's hard to relax into it for the first few songs as she's not exactly the same as in the films in her timing and delivery! Also she's not as good here as on the vinyl record that has a similar presentation. But there are some truly poignant songs, well-sung, that give you goose bumps. If you love her, you'll forgive the imperfection. I love her. It's easy. Buy it if you're a fan. Leave it well alone if you're not!
