The Littlest Angel by Charles Tazewell
2 von 2 finden das hilfreich I remember as a little girl leaving Guam to move to Alaska and because of weight restrictions, we had to leave a LOT of our stuff behind. One thing that caused me to cry many tears was my book, The Littlest Angel. I remember my mother reading it to me at Christmas, especially, and how I loved the story. It is a tender story about a little angel who is sent to heaven a wee bit too early, in his own opinion, and who was left with nothing for a young angel to do in heaven. When asked what would cheer him up, he asked for and received a box he'd had on earth that he always kept under his bed - a box of his treasures. Once retrieved, the littlest angel becomes very well behaved and happy again.
Then the great day arrives: the day the Savior is born and all the angels prepare to give their finest gifts to Him. The Littlest Angel is saddened because he has nothing to give. The story continues with his personal quest to find and give the perfect gift to the Christ child. It resembles the story of the Little Drummer Boy, but with more of a child's perspective in it. I won't give away the ending, but the Littlest Angel soon finds how God can take the least of our gifts and turn them into a bright spot in others' lives.
I loved the book; it brought back many wonderful memories of my own childhood, and I look forward to the day that I can read it to my grandchildren. I plan to buy several copies to read and then give to them. I recommend the book for its simplicity, yet really great text. The pictures are good too, but the text is what impacted me the most.
