very appropriate to the subject person of the book
I thought it might just contain material mostly already in other books but there was quite a lot of comment which I hadn't seen elsewhere. Most interesting is it's written from an American ex probation workers perspective, so he discusses some points from a US law perspective. There are some statements which are incorrect but this doesn't distract from enjoyment of the book.

Essential reading for World War 2 history students.
Well, I wasn't sure whether it would be new material for me but it definitely was. I haven't finished reading it as it's very detailed but it's an excellent book. I'm particularly interested in Josef Stalin, how the others felt about him, as I knew they both had reservations about his past, especially as he had signed an agreement with the Nazis. It's a book I'll turn to again and again, definitely. The author has gained access to previously unreleased sources from the Russians, so his material is fresh and new. One thing was missing. No mention is made of the occasion when Molotov came over in 1942 to have talks with Churchill and they had to go underground when there was an air raid. As they came out, Molotov gripped Churchill's hand firmly, as an evidence of fellow feeling. It was perhaps the only occasion when Churchill felt any emotion from him!! I've yet to read about Stalin's genuine sadness on the death of his "dear friend the President", so I still look forward to much from the book. Would definitely recommend it to any World War 2 historians or students studying the subject.

Confessions ....not of guilt but of how she felt after leaving Jehovah's Witnesses.
It's quite a moving account of a person who, obviously has strong Christian values, didnt think Jehovah's Witnesses lived up to their claims to be the only true religion and decribes her feelings afterwards. Makes a compelling read for those in a similar position.
