Easy to use and very effective
We have three Volvos in the family, so this cheaper version with software for only one family of cars was ideal. It turned out to be much simpler to use than I expected. You plug it in and it recognises the car. Then press scan and it goes through all of the different electronic functions in the car (in the case of my first run on a top of the range V60 there were 31 separate electronic boxes which were scanned) - and produces a list of any faults. You can then get a description of each fault.
The reason for getting the box was a problem with the engine management light coming on after I fitted a chip. Not only could I turn off the light, but it recorded 4 separate faults - all to do with the injectors not being programmed. I took the chip out and reset the faults - everything was good. I replaced the chip and the 4 faults reappeared. This was enough to prove to the chip manufacturer that the chip was faulty!
And all for probably less cost that one trip to the Volvo garage!

Clean with an air line and keep a spare
I usually blast these clean with an air line - like the ones for car tryes at garages. The recommended soaking does not always work. It is good to have a spare since they seem to block after a few months - depending on the coffee beans.

Aesthetically pleasing. Well built - except for the nozzle.
Nicely made of quality materials - except for the nozzle which is plastic. However a range of different replacement nozzles are available should this be damaged. I have bought a second of these taps after a thorough look and strip down of the first. The tap mechanism is a replacable cartidge - as for most modern taps. These don't often fail and are available online.
