Caveat Emptor: Mini factory installed navigation systems may not be swappable
No Go! 2012 Mini Cooper Countryman All4 Navigation system - After an official BMW service center diagnosed my 2012 Mini's navigation unit over a 2-day period:
I was informed that factory-installed "SiRIUS RADIO's CANNOT BE SWAPPED (at least for 2012 models) since they are mated and registered to the vehicle. BMW tried and failed at flashing the unit with no success.
\So I'm left with a radio I cannot use and a broken Navigation system. Furthermore, I have not be able to find an "after market system which can replace a "factory installed" navigation system. My last attempt is to send the broken radio and display to Hi-Tech Electronics in Van Nuys Ca to see if they can "resurrect" it cold dead circuits and give it new life!
