As Good As It Gets
This tuner is about as good as it gets. I actually have four other McIntosh MR74's, plus I also have a Yamaha Ct7000 as well. The one I purchased is as good as it gets plus with all the lights working properly it is truly beautiful as well. One thing I learned back in the early 1970's is that on a truly great tuner and great local radio system, thru even Stax as well as Koss ESP9 headphone systems that the announcers themself when they were just talking, that they actually sounded better than if you were actually there listening to them in person. Today with any of my tuners if I hook them up to my ConradJohnson PV5 preamplifier and it to a Stax SRM MKII Pro amplifier thru Stax headphones that the sound is incredible-perhaps something that the late Art Dudley would have easily recognized as something truly beautiful. On certain systems FM radio thru an exceptional FM tuner can sound easily superior to any CD or SACD sound.

Titally satisfied customer
My Stax headphone system although being 35-40 years old appears to be in brand new condition. What is even bettter is that they work as if brand new also. Took awhile to get but was well worth it.
