Cash Nuggets for Fans
This is my first review of anything, so I will try to keep this brief.
Overall, this album is typical Johnny Cash, and will appeal to people like myself who like his music. This CD is a mesh of songs that speak to the human condition and provide Johnny's insight on the various topics he sings about. It was recorded Circa 1977, on his long decline before American Records picked him up, just a handfull of the reported 1000 songs he recorded over his career.
He has some rousing "buddy" songs with Waylon that are enjoyable. A wry song called "Who's Gene Autry?" about how our icons are not our childrens'. Some toe-tappers: Hurt So Bad, I Would Like to See You Again, I Don't think I Could Take You Back Again. It's nice stuff, none outstanding, but none painful to listen to, which explains my Average Rating.
If you are a Cash Fan, buy this. If you are looking for a reason to become one, spend your money on American Recordings 5: A Hundred Roads. Once you become a fan, THEN come back and buy this!

WOW! It's really gold!
This is a great value with the following caveat:
If you expect anything other than a stage prop or a short term use, you are wrong. However- for a stage prop or party costume, it is very nice! I bought it for a costume for a play, and it is outstanding! It lights up the stage! I put it with a black Vanilla Ice t-shirt and a fake heavy gold chain. Fantastic!
