derivative and disappointing
0 von 1 finden das hilfreich Knowing that this book was a Costa winner and had received rave reviews meant that I was greatly looking forward to reading it. I found that the plot and remote rural setting were borrowed from The Wicker Man, but in no way matched up. It was said to be set in the mid 70s, but described a world which seemed totally 1950s, and there was a pointless obsession with silly names, Mummer and Farther (was this supposed to be meaningful?) and Mr and Mrs Belderboss, etc. Why? An unsatisfactory conclusion in which all the supposed build up of horror dribbled away into nothing left me wishing I really hadn't wasted my time. Haunting it was not.

quite a good little oven
this is a good little oven for the price. The only problem is that it has had slight damage to the bottom, which makes the legs on the left sit lower than the right, giving it a wonky look which is a bit unsatisfactory.
