I used this to dye an army surplus desert smock - composed of gabardine (50% cotton 50% polyester). Did it using the hot dye method and achieved a really cool dark blue/black and brown camo look. The dye successfully took to the nylon buttons as well as the hook and loop fastening and the coating on the zip pulls odly enough(?). If I wanted to achieve a much darker colour I'd dye again with the rit dyemore for synthetic - but I'm more than happy with the colour I've achieved. Couldn't be happier

Fool proof product
The quality of cast is amazingly fine and the strength is surprising. Easy to mix and measure, essentially completely fool proof. Highly rate this product.
