Life-changing book
I have experienced tremendous spiritual growth and deeply enriched prayer life in the two or three months I have been following this book's prayer program. (I am nearly finished with "Week Nine" of the book, which is different from Ignatius' "week"-based set-up). The book has enabled me to "make" the Ignatian Exercises at home, spread out over several months rather than in the original concentrated 30-day retreat format. (I understand it is best to do it, even at home, in consultation with a spiritual director or mentor, and I hope to find one before I finish the book.) Fr. O'Brien does a good job of adapting the exercises for the contemporary reader without diluting the spiritual power of this course in prayer. He also includes stories of his own personal experiences, as well as poems and prayers by a range of writers, as a supplement to the daily prayer guidelines. I have bought seven copies of this book to give to family and friends, and so far everyone I know who has started working with it has found it to be a great blessing.

a little smaller than I wanted, but OK
This replacement tamper is a little bit shorter than the original one I was replacing--it doesn't get as close to the blades as the original--but so far it has been sufficiently long to get the flow of blending going. I would have ordered a different one if I had known. I wish the listing had included the precise length (not including the handle portion).
