Good fix for 2007 Ford Escape
Fixed the flex pipe part of my 2007 Ford Escape. My brother did it for me -- drove the car up on ramps, used a metal blade in a sawzall to cut off the pipe in front of the rotted out flex pipe. Then this part slipped over the remaining pipe so that we could bolt the rest of the exhaust system back on. I tried to do the cutting myself with a hacksaw and gave up, and I think I would explore some kind of tailpipe-cutting chain-wrench kind of hand tool that I've seen online, if I were going to have to persist and cut it myself. I say this for others who might be trying to get the muffler back on their cars themselves. The cutting is difficult because there is so little room to maneuver or get any leverage, under the car. Which isn't the fault of this replacement part, just a fact of trying to work on exhaust systems. What a delight to have the muffler reattached. The included hardware was all perfect, muffler clamp, gasket and bolts. Highly recommended!
