"So Jake, having a bad day? LOL!" - Powers Boothe
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich I remember this action flick back in the 90's. Critics gave it a so-so review, but it was worth a second or third look. Rapid Fire was not all that bad. The plot was pretty twisted between the Feds, cops, and two rival mafia gangs. How many leading Asian American actors could carry this then or today? Very few. It boils down to story, script, and dialogue, which were very well done. Brandon did a great job making the fight scenes look believable. He was also outstanding in "The Crow." We miss you and your father Brandon. Added this to my Asian Am. cinema collection. Next, Dim Sum Funeral.

"Prime numbers!"
I bought Cube a few days ago after renting it back in 1998. Cube is about six strangers trapped in a cubic prison with red, blue, yellow, green, orange, and white rooms where they try to work together to find a way out or die trying to avoid death traps in a near endless maze. Picture a giant size "Rubik's Cube" prison containing experimental mice people trying to solve the puzzle within. The signature series edition has a new director commentary, an interview with Nicole deBoer of Star Trek DS9, deleted scenes, artwork, set design, subtitles, and in widescreen format. I found this movie interesting, creatively original, and very cerebral. It's much different from any sci-fi/horror films I've seen recently. And a 'Like New' condition is worth getting for a good bargain price.

They are praying for his return to the throne.
A first time non-fictional TV movie of Vlad Tepes/Dracula/the Impaler. This was on the SyFy Channel 11 years ago at a perfect time in late October before Halloween. And why not? Hollywood released truth/non-fictional historic epics and figures from Braveheart, Gladiator, Troy, Alexander, King Arthur and along comes Dark Prince, (orig. titled; Vlad Dracula: The Dark Prince).
I found the Dark Prince to be insightful and informative of Vlad's mythology in contrast to the vampire Dracula films I've seen where Vlad became the heir to his father's throne while defending Romania from the Ottoman Turks, the Sultans, noblemen, and other forces seizing power. Vlad gradually grows darker, more paranoid, and extremely violent. Wikipedia got one thing wrong. The movie has Vlad getting killed while battling the Turks. Just before his soldiers were about to place him in a wooden coffin, (the fictional part kicks in) Vlad came back alive not minding his head injury that begins leading to the Bram Stoker legend.
It's somewhat difficult to watch due to extreme violence and impaling scenes. Overall, very well performed by the cast in this rare gem that's difficult to find. Next, Robin Hood. LOL!
