Before I was three years old, my mom said I was "just nuts" about trains and planes. I am in my late-seventies now and that s still pretty much the same!

Insignia not done right
Of all companies to get the proportions of the U.S. WWII insignia wrong, who would have thought it'd be someone like J.C. Wings? The white star is off-center to the rest of the insignia, leaving way too much of a blue surround. Looks like it was done by some artisan not at all familiar with how the insignia is supposed to be proportioned, and so it's a real distraction to the rest of what is otherwise a nice model. Strain at the gnat and swallow a camel!

Nice replica of a Kansas ANG B-1B in 1/200 scale!
This 1/200 model is nicer than some of its photos suggest. Its wing-sweet feature works very well, and soft black plastic plugs are provided to close the gap behind the wings when they are swept forward (what the two plastic tools are for, to help tuck them into the opening). The optional hatch-ladder is a helpful detail, and the assembly of the model is nice and tight. Box makes reference to shark-mouths painted on intakes, but these are not on the model. Otherwise a nice model of a KANG B-1B that sits well with Herpa's B-2 model, same scale.

Misfit of landing gear pieces exasperating
The fit of this model's main landing gear struts conflicts with the fit of the strut cover doors. The base of the struts overlaps the slots into which the strut cover door pieces should fit, preventing usage of all landing gear parts. Have notified Corgi of this problem, including photos to document this problem. They have promised to send replacement pieces, but am anxious they will only be the same as before. Will see when those pieces arrive.
