This Stens part is BETTER than cheap aftermarket or OEM from MTD
This part is the old style control cable with the cuff that attaches to the mower handle. Stens still manufactures this to the original specification. Although Stens is an aftermarket supplier, I feel that they manufacture a superior product for this application.
This is a superior design to the updated MTD part. The new "updated" MTD part only has a small retainer without a cuff to secure the cable to the handle. This new design is inadequate for heavy usage, the retainer flexes and pulls out of place. I would recommend this control cable over an OEM cable or other aftermarket suppliers.
