Great idea but just doesn't work

Stillson grips work well, so by the look of this tool, it should be ideal for gripping onto a track rod and turning it....unfortunately it just didn't work. The spring seems very weak and the jaws just don't grip onto a track rod (they seem too big). I guess the warning signs are there when the manufacturer's images show the tool being used attached to the track rod end (whilst still attached to the vehicle!).
